The
history of rock evolved from rhythm and blues, country and gospel music in the
1940's with classical, jazz and folk music also having a strong influence. The
first radio station to play rock music was in 1951 by a disc jockey named Alan
Freed in Cleveland, Ohio. Rock
music itself attracted a multiracial group of listeners as well as performers.
Some of the early performers of rock music included; Bill Haley and the Comets,

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
and Museum.
A beautiful museum on the shores of Lake Eire, the Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame has some of the greatest rock music artists
inducted. Some of them include James Brown, Elvis Presley, The
Beach Boys, The Grateful Dead, Sex Pistols, The Beatles, David
Bowie, Santana and Pink Floyd.
